Before daily use of the forklift, a series of inspections and preparations are key steps to ensure safe operation and normal operation of the equipment. The following are several important tasks that must be performed before the forklift is operated:
1. Check the appearance of the forklift
First, perform a visual inspection of the forklift to ensure that there is no obvious damage or wear. Check the body, tires, fork arms and other key components to ensure that there are no cracks, breaks or other defects that may affect operation. If any problems are found, they should be reported and repaired immediately.
2. Check the fluid level
Check the fluid level of various fluids, including fuel (or battery power), hydraulic oil, engine oil and coolant. Insufficient fluid levels may cause the equipment to operate improperly or damage. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that all fluids are within the recommended range.
3. Check the tires
Check the condition and air pressure of the tires. The tires should not have obvious wear or damage, and the air pressure should be within the manufacturer's recommended range. Tire problems may affect the stability and handling of the forklift and increase the risk of accidents.
4. Check the operating system
Start the forklift and check whether each operating system is operating normally. Including the steering system, brake system, accelerator and lifting system. Test the lifting and tilting functions of the fork arm to ensure that it operates smoothly and without abnormal sounds.
5. Check safety equipment
Make sure all safety equipment is in good condition and working properly. Check equipment such as seat belts, lights, horns, reflectors and warning signs. The seat belts must be intact and securely fixed, and the lights and horns must be able to work properly when needed.
6. Check load capacity
Understand the weight of the goods you need to move for the day's work and ensure that it is not overloaded. Check the load capacity label of the forklift to ensure that each operation is within the safe load range. Overloading operation can cause equipment damage or serious accidents.
7. Check the working environment
Before starting work, check the environment of the work area. Make sure the ground is flat, free of obstacles, and the driving path is clear. Pay attention to other people and equipment in the work area to ensure that they will not interfere or be interfered with during operation.
8. Perform functional tests
Finally, perform a comprehensive functional test. Start the forklift and move forward and backward slowly to test the steering and braking systems. Raise and lower the fork arm under no-load conditions to ensure that everything functions normally before performing formal work operations.
Detailed inspection and preparation before daily use of the forklift can significantly reduce the possibility of accidents, extend the service life of the equipment, and ensure work efficiency. Developing these good operating habits is essential to ensure the safety of operators and the working environment.
