Truck mounted cranes and spider cranes are often used in lifting operations, and their primary role is to lift and carry heavy loads on planets and construction sites, among other places. A spider crane consists of an outrigger base and a rotatable jib with a lifting hook mounted on the jib. A truck mounted crane, on the other hand, has a complete body and a horizontally extending boom with a lifting hook. In contrast, the spider crane structure is more flexible, the boom can be rotated 360 degrees, can easily adjust the lifting angle and position.
The relatively small size of the spider crane makes it suitable for lifting in small places or complex sites, such as road construction or urban lifting operations. The large truck mounted crane is suitable for applications requiring extensive movement, such as construction sites or factories.
The height limit of a spider crane is lower than that of a truck mounted crane, because the spider crane is supported and stabilised on the ground for lifting operations, so the working height is about 50 metres. Truck mounted cranes can reach higher working heights, and some large truck mounted cranes can reach a maximum lifting height of more than 200 metres.
